This week...
I am actually taking this week off from shooting -- still editing last weeks shoots, but also re-energizing for the weeks ahead of weddings and babies and boudoirs! SO many shoots coming soon... :)

In Action!
It is not very often that I get to see what I look like when I am shooting -- but since Dave was along for the Oxford, England wedding he snagged a couple of shots! Yes, I am wearing a dress and YES it is bright! I was told that wearing black OR pants as a women in England was not appropriate, so this was my work-dress... :)
And the resulting image:
I am finally on the mend, with some antibiotics for my poor-plugged-ear!
Techno-geek-speak
This is an entry for all the people out there that love geeky-computer stuff...like me. :)
Having a computer background has been an amazing advantage in my job, and I take my file storage VERY seriously. My wedding camera writes to two memory cards at once (which is very necessary in my field), and when I get home I have a workflow that sends my files to places all over (hard drive, external drive, DVD's and off-site). Well tonight my great friend Jesse came over and we made some major changes to add some BETTER back-ups to my process. Meet DROBO -- isn't he cute?
I will have FOUR TERABYTES...yeah a lot...of storage on there. If a drive fails, it lets me know and automatically uses one of the drives to replace the broken one. It is a little Robot! And I am changing my off-site storage as well, to a host that automatically updates selected portions of my drives as I add to them. SO COOL!
Anyone else as geeked out as me? Hello? Anybody there??? Oh ok...
Tomorrow I have two more shoots, and then I am off to Seneca, KS on Saturday for a wedding!
Just for giggles...
I am sure you will recognize this little guy -- Mattias! I met up with him and him Mom (my friend Erika) for lunch the other day, and had to document his incredibly cute giggles!! He is such a happy baby. If you are having a bad day, you just need to hear his laugh -- amazing!
Civil War -- in Olathe?
Some of my long-time readers may recall when Dave and I went to the Civil War re-enactment last year, and I posted some images. Well this year, we actually played volleyball with one of the guys who is a part of the action! His name is also Dave, and he asked me to get some shots of his crew/friends, and some of the battle. I love using the Totally Rad Action "Old School" on these images, because it really does look vintage! Enjoy some of the shots, and I even pointed out Dave in one of them!! :)

And here is Dave again -- in the middle!

Another Secret Blog Contest!

AMANDA G!
E-mail me to claim your prize, and thank to you EVERYONE who leaves comments. I really appreciate it, and thanks for reminding me that I have some great readers out there!
Well...

I know that I have a lot of shoots waiting for some blog time, and today I had two additional sessions with some amazing little ones! LOTS more coming tomorrow -- since I have no shoots and it is supposed to rain for most of the day. Should be really productive! But today I busted-out the Macro lens on flowers in our front yard...
Extremely Flattered!
I have a lot of readers out there -- and sometimes I never know who they are. I LOVE blogging (right Melissa Jill :P) and when I show up for a session and people tell me how much they enjoy my blog, it really makes the time put into this blog worth it -- so thank you VERY much!
Now we all know that there are all sorts of analytics around blog traffic, etc. Well I had some readers from a blog out there called Shutter Sisters, and it is a group of amazing & talented women. A recent post asked people to list some of their favorite blogs, and I was humbled/flattered/shocked to read a post from Melissa B (go check out her blog here):
"I have so many that I have found lately. I will post the one that is from my area. I'm hoping one day to meet her."
Wow...SO flattered! Little ole me? Contact me Melissa!
I think this face about sums up my feelings!
"Bridal" Portraits
Once those girls had wedding dresses on, I wanted some images of them as brides too -- what do you think? :)
The above images were taken with a single manual flash shot through a white umbrella to camera-right!
Happy Valentine's Day!

While Dave and I don't really celebrate this holiday in the traditional sense, I still have to say I love you! :)
