While in England, I received some news from my couple that was supposed to be getting married tomorrow.  The good news was that they just had their baby (originally due at the beginning of June) who came a little late.  The bad news, William was being sent to Iraq to serve our country.  The wedding was canceled, and they aren't sure when he will be returning.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and wish him a swift and safe return!

 

I know that everyone is super excited to see images from the wedding in Oxford, but I have to get better first!  It was a rough travel-day back to the states, and even worse when I woke up with a fever yesterday morning.  I still have not managed to get rid of it, but I hope by tomorrow I will be somewhat normal.  I will post as soon as I can!

That's right -- headed over the pond.  I am shooting a wedding in Oxford, England this weekend, and Dave and I are literally leaving our house for the airport at 4:30 AM!  YIKES!  Perhaps I should go pack? :)  I am not bringing the internet with me, so that means a few days of no e-mail or cell phone...but I will be returning all inquiries and handling all orders next Tuesday.  In the meantime, here is a picture from our last trip to Oxford in March 2006.  I believe this was actually on our quick tour of Oxford University!

Since I attend so many weddings, I decided to start posting things that I think are a GREAT idea for the big day!

We have all seen the standard program; who is in the wedding, the processional, the music.  But why not tell people MORE about you?!  Heather and Tim did just that, and it was so much fun to see everyone in the church flipping through their book of favorite things and quotes.  The quotes were from all sorts of people (well-known writers to Jerry Seinfeld & Jerry Garcia) and in various fonts.  They also included random facts about themselves -- favorites bands/colors/food.  All sealed together with a simple keyring!  I brought one home and snapped a few pictures of it to share...

Over the past year I have received NUMEROUS requests from people of all ages to learn how I do what I do.  Up until now, I didn't really know how to communicate that kind of information!  But with some help/support of friends, I decided that an internship would be the perfect solution.  I am looking for someone who is organized, learns quickly, and is great with people.  So let the search begin!  I would like to see some of your work (either on a blog you have started, on Flickr, or some other website), and I would like to hear why you would like to shadow me.  It doesn't have to be a novel, but I do want to know your background in photography, etc.  You will be coming along with me on shoots, guest blogging and possibly working with me in my home (during the day) learning my workflow and assisting in the office.  I haven't decided the term of the internship at this time -- but most likely it will be a couple of weeks.  FYI -- this is a non-paying internship, since you will be learning so much!
There are a lot of things happening this summer, especially in June, so I will be accepting entries until the end of May.  Please send your "cover letter" and a link to your images to rebecca at rpetersphotography dot com!

You remember Mason from a couple posts back -- well she is having a birthday party -- so of course we had to design some invites!  The back has all the information for the party on it...but I had to share the front!! :)

 

The Art Gallery has been added to -- a LOT.
For any of you who have been to my home, you know that I have a lot of framed prints in the living/dining area from our trip to London/Oxford/Prague in March 2006.  Well, after a few requests my favorites from that trip have been added to the gallery!  Also some picks from Eureka, and some recent stuff from the Plaza/Downtown.  I have even increased the flower collection.  I know it is corny, but Spring is HERE so I have been loving the flowers this season!  Anyways, if you have some time, go check it out right here...or to the left there is a link in the sidebar!
