Sarah & Jamie's Oxford Wedding
You have been waiting OH SO long for this post -- and for that I do apologize. The cold, the jet lag, and the catching up -- but finally we are back to the regularly scheduled program... :)
Where do I begin with this wedding? It was so special to me, and in the most beautiful location ever, I was overwhelmed! That and I only had about 15 minutes total to shoot the couple and the wedding party -- pressure huh? I love these images, and I really processed them to look a little more vintage that my usual style. Sarah's details fit this really well, and those new Totally Rad actions are just awesome! So without further verbiage...on with the images!
The girls did hair/make-up/dresses at a gorgeous home in the Oxford village. The room had beautiful windows, and everyone had drinks and laughs while they prepared for the ceremony. Sarah's dress was made by her Mother -- yes, you read that right! And her earrings were borrowed from friend/bridesmaid Jen (they are Jen's grandmother's).

Her Dad walked her down the aisle of the 700-year-old church -- it was amazing, and a great moment...
After the ceremony we had QUICK photos outside the church with the guys and girls!
I love how she used Sunflowers for the bouquets/decor -- bringing a little Kansas to England.

And of course with the couple!

I didn't shoot a lot during the reception -- but I love the way Jamie is looking at Sarah here!
WATCH THEIR SLIDESHOW HERE -- there are so many more in there that you must see!
Many of the English guests wore hats, and the seating chart for the dinner had the Americans split-up with the English so we would really get to know one another. It was great, and the day was beyond wonderful. Congratulations to the both of you -- I love you so much, and will be coming to NJ to visit!
How excited are you to see the Oxford wedding?

Lauren + Brian's Wedding Day!
Yes, that is two days in a row with WEDDING POSTS! Exciting huh? :)
So LAST weekend, I had the pleasure of working with Lauren & Brian. These two made it very clear that pictures were very important, and even gave me a couple of hours to work with them and their wedding party in between the ceremony and reception! It was wonderful, and we went to Kauffman Gardens, and then to Liberty Memorial. Well, we didn't count on the fact that ROCKFEST was going on, so we couldn't pull right up to the photo location. There was a very large hill that we could access from the side, and Lauren said she was willing to hike it in the SUPER heat and humidity! Now that is my kind of bride... :) Plus we got to rock-out to some crazy music while we were up there taking pictures. This wedding was full of surprises; 1) nobody had seen her dress but Mom and Lauren 2) they surprised their guests with a choreographed hip-hop routine after their slow-music came to a screeching halt (like here) 3) Lauren didn't know where they were going for the honeymoon, and Brian played a song to let her know it was Jamaica! I could go on and on, but let's just go to the pictures and slideshow, shall we?

My current FAVE ring shot of all time...
I added some effect/texture to make this shot more dramatic, and love the result!

And had to try something new with some of the wedding party!

Leah + Grant's Wedding Day!
The last weekend of May, I drove out to Seneca, KS to photograph the wedding of Leah & Grant! The church was so beautiful, and you could just FEEL the excitement when you stepped through the doors. Leah was getting ready with her bridesmaids when I arrived, and soon it was time to put the dress on. That was the moment that everyone went silent, and couldn't take their eyes off of her! Rain threatened us a couple of times, and instead just left some humidity to enjoy... :) The girls were awesome and full of laughter, and the guys were total troopers crawling on the playground in their tuxedos. More good stuff below, and their SLIDESHOW!

So the guys have this "tradition" that started with Grant's Father's Uncle's Cousin -- or something like that. All the men from his family gathered on the dance floor and started to roll up the pant legs...and when the Irish song came over the speakers it turned into MASS CHAOS! Almost like a mosh-pit of men's legs running around! I have hidden the faces in this shot to protect those wives/girlfriends from too much embarassment... :)

A Rockin' night...
I just got home from a fan-TAB-u-lous wedding, and wanted to post a quick image from the downloading session... :)

To say things have been busy at RPeters Photography would be a HUGE understatement! I am trying to get all caught up before Dave and I head for Oxford, England this coming Thursday (I am shooting a wedding next Saturday there)...so check back tomorrow for lotsa LOTSA stuff!
Super Sneak!
Whitney + Ryan's Wedding Day!
I am SO happy that I am no longer sick -- and finally I can try and get caught up with the blogging!
First off, let's start with this gorgeous wedding in Ft. Leavenworth, KS. You saw one image as a sneak earlier last week! It was on the base, since Whitney's Father and Brother are members of the military. The ceremony took place in the beautiful Memorial Chapel, that has been around for so many years it is astounding. They decided to see one another before the ceremony and have all of the images taken, which meant we got a LOT of pictures of the happy couple. Always my favorite time! It was nostalgic to be back at this particular chapel, since I shot there when I was learning about 9 years ago. Things have definitely changed with my style since then!!
Anyways, enjoy their slideshow right here, and the great emotion below!

I love how the bubbles are the focus of this image...and the joy on their faces in the background!

Coming soon...

And with 7 shoots this coming week, the blog will be BUSTIN' with new stuff!
Heather + Tim | A Wedding to Remember
I don't even know where to begin with this wedding...
When you meet two incredible people that you know are just made for one another -- AND they make you feel like part of the family -- it is more than I can ever ask for from a couple. These two had a TON of great/creative/fun elements to their wedding day, and I am going to have to show them all to you with pictures, so follow along! First we started off at the President hotel for getting ready, and the First Moment:

Then we went down in a trolley to the Hobbs Building -- the reception location -- to get some incredible urban images. How sweet are these!?

And I knew that Tim could pull-off a "different" kind of portait..and he did!

But Tim had a surprise for Heather -- after most of their first dance, the music stopped and the band handed him the microphone. The next thing you know, Tim is singing "You're Nobody 'Til Sombody Loves You..." and his groomsmen are taking turns spinning Heather around the floor! Tim was a great singer, and everyone was laughing...but wait for it...it get's better. After the last groomsmen was done, Tim stopped singing and pulled out a hand-made heart with the word "Someone" on it (to go with the song)...it was so touching!!
And how incredible does Heather look right here!?
Did I mention the band? Yes, an incredible/amazing live band that sounded like each and every band that they covered. If you are looking for a great group, check out Parachute Adams!
HERE IS THE SLIDESHOW!
Bentley & Ben's Wedding!
Last month I photographed the wedding of Bentley and Ben -- and it was SO MUCH FUN! They were married in a gorgeous church, and had their reception at the Uptown Theatre. The wedding party was so much fun, and we went to the Nelson Art Museum for some pre-images. I just LOVE when a couple agrees to see one another before the wedding because we have the chance to get a LOT of pictures that we would never be able to get AFTER the ceremony. Bentley planned a lot of amazing details, so check out the slideshow RIGHT HERE, and enjoy my favorites below! :)

I love the way her Mother is looking at her right here -- great moment!
